Harmonic analysis is a generalisation of Fourier analysis that studies the properties of functions. Check out this tag for abstract harmonic analysis (on abelian locally compact groups), or Euclidean harmonic analysis (eg, Littlewood-Paley theory, singular integrals). It also covers harmonic analysis on tube domains, as well as the study of eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the Laplacian on domains, manifolds and graphs.

Poisson summation formula for infinite dimensional spaces
Let $M$ be an orientable, compact smooth manifold with a metric $g$ and $H^{-1}(M)$ be the dual space of $$H^{1}(M)=\{f:\int |f|^2+(\nabla f)^2 d\mu<\infty\}$$
I know it is well known that (see Julie …

Bound of analytic torsion for a line bundle
Let $E\rightarrow X$ be a line bundle over a compact Riemann surface. Let $\Delta_{E}$ be the Dolbeault Laplacian $\Delta_{\overline{\partial}}$ extended to sections of $E$. Let $g_1, g_2$ be two metr …

Can Gaussian measure be characterized by unitary representations?
It is well known that Fourier transform switches positive-definite functions with positive measures on a (locally compact topological) group. Further, the positive definite functions can be characteri …

Is Serre duality related to Pontryagin duality?
I am wondering if there is some relationship between Serre duality and Pontryagin duality for compact complex manifolds. In this case Serre duality reduces to the commutativity of Hodge-star operator …

Why do people study Weyl asymptotics and partial-spectral-projections?
The unit length hypothesis at here is not important, and very crude estimates are available using Sobolev embedding only. The main issue is that studying the spectrum on the manifold itself is not eno …
