A topological vector space is a vector space $V$ over a topological field $\mathbb{K}$ (typically $\mathbb{K}=\mathbb{R}$ or $\mathbb{K}=\mathbb{C}$), together with a topology on $V$ such that vector addition and scalar multiplication are both continuous.
