Irreducible sub-modules of $\ell^1(\mathbb{Z})$

It is known that $\ell^2(\mathbb{Z})$ is $\ell^1(\mathbb{Z})$-module (the module operation is the convolution).

What about the irreducible submodules? Can we characterize them?
