As we all know, zeta regularization is used in Quantum field theory and calculationcalculations regarding the Casimir effect  .

Are there less fundamental applications of regularized zeta function regularization? By less fundamental"less fundamental" I mean Itit 'naturally' pops up in more of an artificially / purepurely mathematically ideal constructed scenario.
