On mathematical arguments against Quantum computing
Will Sawin, particle spin is a consequence of special relativity combined with quantum mechanics. My paper only talks about the Newtonian situation. As for how things generalize to quantum field theory, simply read more Hall and Reginatto papers. Your comment about individual particles not following the uncertainty principle also does not make sense. Everything in QM is subject to the uncertainty principle.

Will Sawin, calculating the interference patterns of the double slit experiment are not resource intensive at all. Feynman shows you how to do it on the first pages of the 3rd volume of his lectures. You do not need to use his famous path interval to do this.

Will Sawin, your objection makes no sense. First of all the fact that my paper was published as a preprint on vixra (instead of arxiv) does not imply anything about whether it is correct or not. There are bad papers on arxiv and bad papers on vixra and also good papers on both.

Jim Conant, it is true that a deeper alternative theory could also explain why we could fail to build a large scale quantum computer, but if one goes by Occam's razor, digial mechanics would be the simplest and therefore the best theory. After all, it is even simpler than quantum mechanics.

How can a mathematician handle the pressure to discover something new?
Is the object of math research to discover new things? I think the true object of math research is to solve math problems. You might discover some new things along the way.

Frankl's conjecture restricted to finite topological spaces
Thanks, I saw that survey before but didn't recognize the name semimodular lattices.

Very good. Was this known before you answered it?
