It was an elementary proof but very enlightening. So it's a purely algebraic thing and doesn't depend upon the analytic/topological properties of the algebra. Beautiful.

How to show that every Von Neumann algebra is unital?
@DmitriPavlov Yes, using Double Commutant theorem it is trivial. But in the Kehe Zhu book this theorem came before the statement of the aforementioned theorem. That's why I was looking for a proof without using it.
