Dear @F_L is the claim that a birational automorphism of a variety induces an automorphism of the canonical ring something general? Also, is it true that an automorphism on the canonical ring of a variety induces an automorphism on the variety? (at least if the variety has ample canonical class) I would really appreciate a reference for these assertions. Thank you.
