Let $N$ be the $A$-module generated by $S$. Now $M$ is contained in $N+\mathfrak{m}M$, which is contained in $N+\mathfrak{m}(N+\mathfrak{m}M)$, hence in $N+\mathfrak{m}^2M$. Repeat.
