In Kock 80 ncatlab.org/nlab/show/infinitesimal+disk+bundle#Kock80 the jet bundle functor is discussed synthetically and prop. 2.2 there observes that it is right adjoint to the infinitesimal disk bundle functor. In terms of base change along i : X --> X_dR this is the adjunction i^* i_! -| i^* i_* between the induced monad and comonad, but the article by Kock does not observe this.

May 12, 2015 at 20:07 | comment | added | Urs Schreiber | found one place where the statement is explicit: Marvan 93, section 1.1 ncatlab.org/nlab/show/differential%20operator#Marvan93
