I am a VAP at the university of Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. I got my PhD from the University of Pittsburgh in Summer 2021. I do geometric measure theory (GMT) and analysis on metric spaces.

I write for the AMS graduate blog. Here is link to my articles there: https://blogs.ams.org/mathgradblog/author/besmayli/

Questions on SE and MathOverflow that do not fail to catch my attention are those with the words "distance, metric, Jacobian, measure, Ahlfors regular, Poincare inequality,..." in them!

Why do I post on SE? No math is obvious or too easy. Take any supposedly easy fact from calculus and dig deeper. You will soon reach a nontrivial research level question!

Visiting assistant professor at University of Cincinnati (Ohio, USA). Analysis and geometry (on metric space) are my areas of research. My goal is to advertise these subjects to advanced students and experts that are new to the field.

Toics covered so far @YoungMeasures, my YouTube channel:

(1) Hausdorff measures (5 videos)

(2) Area Formula (13 videos): Lipschitz maps, Rademacher’s theorem, Jacobians

(3) Coarea Formula (14 videos): Fubini’s theorem

(4) Curves in Euclidean and metric space (12 videos): rectifiable curves, arclength parameterizations

(5) Geometric Measure theory (29 videos): Cantorsets and fractals and their various dimension, Densities of Hausdorff measures

(6) Analysis on Metric Spaces (55 videos): Hajlasz-Sobolev and Newtonian-Sobolev functions, upper gradients, Poincare inequality, Modulus of Path Families

Future plans (written on April 26, 2024):

(7) Heisenberg and Carnot Groups, sub-Riemannian manifolds

(8) Lipschitz Maps into Metric Spaces: metric differentiability
