What's a great christmas present for someone with a PhD in Mathematics?

Is data science mathematically interesting?
Cosmetics, pharmacy, textiles. branding, market surveys... Trends can be intrinsically boring for those topics. things like foods, energy, electronics. researching data from them could be bearable in a good context. Stuff like web clicking, online behaviour, environmental science data, sattelite data, crime data, could be nearly fun. You may be a good professor, the base numbers that they supply you with could be pretty poor.

What programming language should a professional mathematician know?
Mathematicians are naturally top programmers. It takes them as long to learn mathlab as python.

What programming language should a professional mathematician know?
Mathlab is incomprehensible to a mathmatician. to integrate logic with maths, a framing language syntax is necessary. Mathlab is terse, and its less of a language than C, it's more of a script. It cant be compiled into a program. I made the same recommendation as a highky upvoted answer: C# due to its legacy in maths algorythms. K3dsurf is pure maths, scad is pure geometry, ... a programming language is not a scripting language.
