Thank you for pointing that out. Indeed the initial matrices are supposed to be symmetrical. I edited the question to account for that confusing definition of condition number.
As pointed out in the comments, the definition of the condition number of a matrix in terms of eigenvalues is confusing. We should use the singular values instead.
