A (non-trivial) ultrafilter $\mathcal{U}$ on $\mathbb{N}$ is a **p-point** if and only if every bounded sequence $(a_n)$ of real numbers contains a convergent subsequence $(a_{n_k})$ such that $\{n_k\}\in \mathcal{U}$.
