I am interested in matroids of rank two and would like to understand how interesting/big this class of matroids is.

Are they representable (linear)? I know that the 2-uniform matroid on 4 elements is not binary, hence the class of matroids of rank two is not a subset of the binary matroid class.

Does there exist any survey on matroids of rank two?
