Sep 30 at 21:07 comment added krl The answer to the first question can be found in the book "Cohomology of Number Fields" by Neukirch-Schmidt-Wingberg: according to Prop. 7.5.1, $I_w$ is a free pro-$p$ group on a countably infinite generating set. Therefore $H^1(I_w,\mathbb{F}_p)$ is a countable direct sum of $\mathbb{F}_p$'s. (Note that this also holds when $K$ is a local function field of char $p$.)
