Apr 13, 2012 at 15:25 comment added George Lowther Actually, I remember looking at an earlier MO question on functional iteration (mathoverflow.net/questions/49724/…) where the map initially looked integrable on my first plots but, after enlarging the domain, it clearly wasn't. In that case, though, it was inevitable that it would look integrable close to the origin because there was a formal solution as a (probably diverging) power series.
