Perhaps some consideration can be simplified by using that each ring hom. $C(S)= \mathbb{R}^S \to \mathbb{R}$ ($S$ discrete) is an evalution iff $S$ is realcompact. Moreover, $S$ is realcompact iff $|S| < m$, where $m$ the first measureable cardinal. | |
