Feb 4, 2012 at 11:37 comment added Deane Yang I think this is a rather common situation in PDE's and analysis, because there are so many slight variants possible but it is often difficult to identify the right general formulation that covers them all. Whenever I encountered this, my solution was to write out careful statements and proofs of what I needed and put them all into an appendix of my paper.
