One comment: from what you tell it looks that to obtain the curvature on $P$ one has to use some auxiliary vector bundle $E$ associated to $P$. The choice of $E$ is irrelevant? Is there a way to define the curvature on $P$ without using a vector bundle $E$ associated to $P$? Thanks.
