The reduction step replaces the complex with one with all 0s, whose corresponding six-term exact sequence is also trivial. I don't see how to repair it. | |

Jonathan's argument considers the special case of a certain bicomplex with 6 non-zero terms. The key step is to further reduce to a bicomplex with only 4 non-zero terms, without changing the putative six-term exact sequence. But I don't see why this should work ... | |
