Aug 10, 2011 at 19:09 | comment | added | Hugo Chapdelaine | Well, if you use Hironaka's desingularization theorem then I guess that you can express (using the Leray spectral sequence) the cohomology of $Y$ in terms of the cohomology of a compactification of $Y$ and of the normal crossing divisors. Is it what you have in mind ? | |
