Aug 3, 2011 at 12:33 comment added Tom Goodwillie In the question $q$ and $r$ are primes. David Speyer answered it when neither of them is $2$. I answer it when one of them is $2$. I also point out that a related statement is true when neither of them is $2$ but false when one of them is $2$.
