I can't name any professional research journals that would accept it, but if you include it as a result with expository material on Darboux functions, and include Sierpinski's (and other) results along with some proof sketches, perhaps College Mathematics Journal or Pi Mu Epsilon or some magazine like that may accept it. However, I hope you get some more professional answers to this question. Good Luck. Gerhard "Ask Me About System Design" Paseman, 2011.06.11

Jun 10, 2011 at 19:30 | comment | added | Gerhard Paseman | I would ask a different question which has a similar effect, but with more appropriate wording. For example, I think MathOverflow should be able to handle questions like: "Is this result (or one like it) in the literature? I've checked X, Y and Z, and am still looking. If it is new, I am considering submitting it to journals A, B and/or C. Is one of these most appropriate, or is there a better choice for this?" (with details). These are more specific and easily answered. Also, there's starting with your local university. Gerhard "Ask Me About System Design" Paseman, 2011.06.10

Jun 10, 2011 at 17:46 | comment | added | Gerhard Paseman | Does anyone else here feel this post deserves a meta discussion? Asking for a reference to a result seems appropriate for MathOverflow (especially when the poster has done some effort in finding a reference already), but asking if something is new or publishable seems less appropriate for this forum and more appropriate for a focussed audience, specifically asking analysts or editors. One concern I have is that there will be an overrun of questions of this type but of lower caliber than this post. Gerhard "Ask Me About System Design" Paseman, 2011.06.10
