Jun 3, 2011 at 20:37 comment added BSteinhurst It is worth noting that Hausdorff dimension does not require a Euclidean ambient space, just a metric. So it can still be used in the case of an abstract metric space. Also the Hausdorff measure of a $\alpha$ Hausdorff dimensional space can actually be zero or infinity. The number $\alpha$ is where the transition from infinity to zero happens.
