If you and your friend want to buy a set $S$ that is quoted at a price $m^*(S)$, but you really only want a subset of $A$ and your friend only wants a subset of $A^c$, then you can "pay" $m^*(S\cap A)$ and your friend $m^*(S\cap A^c)$ and the seller will be happy. In a sense, $A$ is measurable when you and your friend know you can do that no matter the $S$. | |
