Aug 18, 2010 at 13:55 | comment | added | David Jordan | Hi Damien! Okay I'll take a look, thanks. Perhaps I should also post a cw answer which collects all these references together. Thanks, David
Aug 18, 2010 at 13:28 | comment | added | DamienC | David, the connection you mention seems to be the so-called Grothendieck connection. If you like algebra more than geometry you might want to take a look at the following reference: arxiv.org/pdf/0708.2725 (Section 5). Van den Bergh paper (arxiv.org/pdf/math/0603200, Section 6) is very enlighting from an algebro-geometric perspective.

Feb 6, 2010 at 23:56 | comment | added | Harry Gindi | Why aren't these put up in an archive on the internet? I'm sure whoever organizes ICM could get some money for it.

Nov 19, 2009 at 14:16 | comment | added | David Jordan | Yes, I never realized before how interesting it is to read ICM proceedings; you have top mathematicians writing somewhat informally about developments in their field - it's great!
Nov 19, 2009 at 4:55 | comment | added | S. Carnahan♦ | No, I was looking at Deligne and Grothendieck (both very good)

Nov 19, 2009 at 3:57 | comment | added | S. Carnahan♦ | Are you the person who recently recalled the library copy of the 1970 ICM proceedings? I merely ask out of curiosity :)
