They are not usually used, and if so they are often defined rigorously. But there is still a category of intuitive, non-rigorous uses of the infinitesimal concept. | |

I am not sure they satisfy both these conditions, unless by "used" you mean "as a pedagogical aid". (That's not to downplay Loeb measures etc etc but where they are used they are most assuredly "clearly defined".) | |
