Nov 14, 2009 at 7:43 comment added Jose Capco Interesting. I had the same experience flying from Dubai to Frankfurt. The costums in Dubai told me "So you can definitely calculate the square root of a big number".. I just laughed at that.

Once at customs after saying I'm in the UK to give a few talks and visit some mathematicians, the customs agent asked "What is your talk about?" taken aback, not sure exactly what to say, my response was "embedding spheres in spheres". She let me go after that.
