Oct 25 at 13:19 comment added Liviu Nicolaescu @user479223 I thought that too but this is tricker. Stochastic dynamic programming does not seem to work in this case. An old book by Dubbins and Savage "How to gamble if you must" has many gems and there might be some helpful ideas there.
