Of course, let's not use this as an explanation of math to a nonmathematician (although, as far as I know, that's the usual explanation of what math is about for philosophers -once I told a philosophy professor that I was working on number theory, and he immediately replied asking whether that had to do with coming up with the "right" definition of number-). | |
