Sep 3 at 16:45 comment added Nicolas Hemelsoet I mean there is nothing really deep about it. This is just the usual pushforward $i_* F$ where $ i : Z \to X$ is the inclusion. You use it when you want to think of a sheaf on $Z$ as a sheaf on $X$.
