Jul 27 at 18:40 comment added Nate Eldredge Maybe if you at least put "Collatz" in the title. Eg "Collatz-like sequence with 7n+1".
Jul 27 at 14:18 comment added Nate Eldredge I think you should say in the title that the function is 7n+1 when n is odd, and n/2 when n is even. As written, out of context it looks like you are asking about the function that is 7n+1 for all n, which makes the question look silly as it obviously does diverge.

Jun 13 at 9:14 comment added Gottfried Helms I'd expect that in a problem like this the y-axis would have been logarithmically scaled... say like this: go.helms-net.de/math/collatz/start_at_a0_7.png

Jun 12 at 17:25 comment added Daniel Asimov I made no mention of any "confusing part". You neglected to state clearly in English what your algorithm is.
Jun 12 at 17:20 comment added Daniel Asimov It would be much better if the question stated, in English, exactly what algorithm is being discussed, instead of expecting readers to guess correctly or read the code.
