Cisinski If $s:Y\to X$ is finite, flat and surjective, then its graph defines a finite correspondence from $X$ to $Y$, and the formula you want is true (for noetherian schemes). You will find this early in the paper where Suslin and Voevodsky define finite correspondences: Relative Cycles and Chow Sheaves, Annals of Math. Studies, vol. 143.
