Sep 20, 2023 at 15:25 comment added M. Dus @TheMathematician I think the tagging is wrong. This has little to do with probability, but rather with symbolic dynamics. Also, one should emove rings and algebras.

Sep 14, 2023 at 8:46 comment added HJRW IMO, this is a very difficult article for a masters' thesis. But of course you should discuss it properly with your mentor.
Sep 14, 2023 at 8:13 comment added TheMathematician My background (as far as it is relevant for the article) is a lecture about geometric group theory in which we also covered hyperbolic groups (definition and basic properties). As I already have announced I am writing my master thesis (or at least the main part of it) about this article. But as you see from my questions it is not so easy for me xD
Sep 13, 2023 at 8:23 comment added HJRW Although I don't know your mathematical background, I think it is a LOT to try to read that article from scratch. Sela wrote 1000s of pages about limit groups already, and familiarity with much of that machinery is taken for granted. Plus the theory of hyperbolic groups etc etc.
Sep 13, 2023 at 8:14 comment added TheMathematician Probably you are right. But still I am a little bit angry about the authors of the article because they often don't really explain things in this article.
Sep 12, 2023 at 13:39 comment added HJRW It is a bit cryptic. But the quoted text looks like motivation, rather than the details of the proof, so presumably you don't need to understand it in order to understand the paper.
Sep 12, 2023 at 8:39 comment added TheMathematician Maybe. But I don't really see the connection to the article of Fujiwara and Sela.
Sep 11, 2023 at 15:16 comment added HJRW I think this is a reference to §8.4.A of Gromov's seminal 1987 article "Hyperbolic groups".
