Aug 29, 2023 at 20:22 | comment | added | Denis T | Well, there's a theorem by Palais that says that every Hilbert (or, equivalently, Frechet) manifold - a space locally homeomorphic to an open subset of a separable Hilbert space - is an ANR homotopy equivalent to a locally finite countable CW complex. So unless you go into something like differential (co)homology setting and let go of usual homotopy invariance, you get nothing new. | |
