Let $F$ be a number field, $G$ an $F$-simple affine algebraic group. Then is the Weil restriction $Res_{F/\mathbb{Q}} G$$\operatorname{Res}_{F/\mathbb{Q}} G$ $\mathbb{Q}$-simple? I couldn’t find any references.
