@TheAmplitwist, yes, probably "Markdown note" would have been better. I mentioned in this case because a math environment was broken to insert a > in the middle, which I thought the editor wouldn't do automatically (but I tend just to ignore that toolbar except when inserting images, the syntax for which I can never remember, so I don't know).

@LSpice Though you right, of course, if one selects a block of text in the editor and uses the "Blockquote" button in the edit toolbar (or the shortcut Ctrl+Q), then one > character is added per 'screen line'. (Also, perhaps you meant "Markdown note"? :))

MathJax note: you only need one > character per (blank-line-delimited) paragraph, and it will apply to the whole paragraph; there is no need to place one > per 'screen line'.
