Feb 4, 2015 at 23:55 comment added cody To be fair, what Thorsten refers to as "dishonest impredicativity" is what most constructivists object to: the existence of "from above" constructions in mathematics for which there are more philosophical reasons to have doubts than simple first order arithmetic. In particular, there is no simple Gentzen-like argument for 2nd order arithmetic.
