Timeline for Localisation of categories, but instead of "isomorphisms" I want "morphisms with right inverse". Construction via calculus of fractions possible?

Even assuming that S is a subcategory, there is no reason that the formally adjoined right inverse of $g \circ f$ should be the composition of those of $f$ and $g$. So, we can't reduce a string of backwards arrows to a single backwards arrow. | |
