Anyway, I have no objection against including all these references; I would just prefer it if the authors took the effort to provide a bit of non-trivial information about what the references are about. (I've edited point 10 to be more specific about this.)

Aug 12, 2021 at 0:50 comment added Robert Furber Regarding number 10: Most examples of this that I know of have come to be not because of the author's own intention or the author's impression of what readers want, but to pre-emptively appease a certain kind of reviewer, whose reviews include words to the effect of "This paper does not cite any recent work on magical theory X, so it clearly is of no interest. Reject!".
