Both books are on the geometric side; I do not know more geometric treatments --- so these books are closer to each other than to any other text on the subject. Our book is more rigorous, the covered materials are different; we tried to cover only techniques that are absolutely essential for further study of comparison geometry. (By the way, I guess you know that Toponogov's book is based on his lecture notes and published after his death, it explains some awkwardness of his book.) | |

I like that both books are only about 200 pages long. My guess is that your exercises are more challenging than Toponogov's. Do you think that's the case? | |
