A similar question (mathoverflow.net/questions/338828/…) received no answers. Littelmann's papers on the subject (see mi.uni-koeln.de/~littelma/Edinburgh.pdf) aren't entirely un-combinatorial and have a few exercises explicitly in type A that include pictures of Young tableaux and a connection to column words. He also makes some connections to the plactic monoid in mi.uni-koeln.de/~littelma/papers/Plactic.pdf. | |
