May 18, 2021 at 7:57 comment added Piotr Achinger @AriyanJavanpeykar yes, I said that in the second point
May 18, 2021 at 6:56 comment added Ariyan Javanpeykar If $X\to \mathbb{P}^1$ is a family of smooth CY varietues, then it is isotrivial (hence trivial) because of infinitesimal Torelli (for CY varieties) and the fact that the period map has to be constant (because $\mathbb{P}^1$ is simply connected). You do not need VZ.
May 17, 2021 at 17:35 comment added Piotr Achinger @YangMills You are correct. I was thinking about a CY total space when I wrote that.
May 17, 2021 at 17:29 comment added YangMills About item 1., why does it imply what the OP wants? There was no assumption on the Kodaira dimension of $X$ being nonnegative
