May 18, 2021 at 6:56 | comment | added | Ariyan Javanpeykar | If $X\to \mathbb{P}^1$ is a family of smooth CY varietues, then it is isotrivial (hence trivial) because of infinitesimal Torelli (for CY varieties) and the fact that the period map has to be constant (because $\mathbb{P}^1$ is simply connected). You do not need VZ.

May 17, 2021 at 17:29 | comment | added | YangMills | About item 1., why does it imply what the OP wants? There was no assumption on the Kodaira dimension of $X$ being nonnegative
