My only quibble is I think Ian's answer is actually a proof because snappy is recording that it found a homeomorphism between drilled manifolds. I gave a simple version of how this can work below. Snappy's methods are a little more robust, by considering drillings of both manifolds, drilling more curves, etc. In some sense, it all comes down to checking that two triangulations are isomorphic, but with the drilled ones, you want to check how that isomorphism of triangulations affects the boundary curves. | |
