Aug 16, 2021 at 4:14 | comment | added | Rupert | There was a reviewer's report making it clear that a re-write was needed. I have been meaning to get around to doing that, but I have had quite a lot of other stuff on my hands at the moment.
Aug 16, 2021 at 0:53 | comment | added | David Roberts♦ | Just asking if there is any update on this. I know the publishing process can be slow, but it's been 15 months and it's not a long paper. Have you had the sort of feedback you were looking for?

Including link to pre-print as requested

May 4, 2020 at 9:25 | comment | added | Rupert | My degree of confidence about the results in the first two sections (described in my post) is currently pretty high but naturally I welcome critical feedback.
May 4, 2020 at 9:23 | comment | added | Rupert | It has been uploaded to Arxiv and should be available tomorrow; I will post the link then. Earlier drafts were rejected by "Advances in Mathematics" and "Geometry and Topology", in the first case on the grounds of "outside our scope and standards" and in the second case on the grounds of "need to find a more specialised journal". I have obtained new results since that time, which have just been written up this morning and appear in the final two sections, and should still be treated with some caution.
May 3, 2020 at 16:35 | comment | added | Rupert | Yes, I will do that. I must upload it to ArXiV and I need someone who can endorse me as an uploader of a Topology paper. Perhaps I can find a way around that by putting a bit more mathematical logic in it and uploading it as a logic paper. I will include the link to the pre-print as soon as possible.
