Aug 12, 2010 at 14:56 | comment | added | George McNinch | Why is the field $Z(\sqrt{a})$ not isomorphic to $Z(\sqrt{ab})$? In fact, I believe those fields are isomorphic as $F$-algebras (though not as $Z$-algebras), since $Z = F(a,b) = F(ab,b)$. | |
