Clark | To be clear, this (nice) paper answers the question only in a subbcase of the case in which the two elliptic curves have complex multiplication (CM). This makes the situation much more arithmetic in nature (since CM abelian varieties do not vary in moduli). There has been a lot of work on this problem in general, but I think the answer is probably out of reach. | |
