Dec 11, 2019 at 15:32 | comment | added | fosco | Hi Simon! That's exactly what I did.
Dec 11, 2019 at 15:29 | comment | added | Simon Henry | Maybe you should clarify if "unpublished" means really not publicly available or only on the ArXiv or maybe on your personal webpage ? If it is on the arXiv, or at least publicly available, you should treat it as if it were already published (because it is, just not peer reviewed), so I guess include it in the book with a mention to the article.

Nov 22, 2019 at 13:27 | comment | added | YCor | Assuming that you're a mathematician and that you're writing mathematics (edit: yes it's category theory), the custom may depend on disciplines, so it makes sense to post here.
Nov 22, 2019 at 12:00 | comment | added | fosco | @Wojowu Should I migrate the thread elsewhere? Is it something that only mods can do?
Nov 22, 2019 at 11:59 | comment | added | fosco | I definitely need some more magic beans, yes
Nov 22, 2019 at 11:42 | comment | added | David Roberts♦ | Do you need the academic magic beans that come from having another paper in addition to the book? If not, just put it in the book and leave the paper as a preprint.
Nov 22, 2019 at 11:36 | comment | added | Wojowu | Sounds like something that would also be fit on Academia SE.
