Oct 15, 2019 at 9:22 | comment | added | Hsuan-Yi Liao | @abx I don't think it's a counterexample because one can take $U=\{e^{2\pi i t} \mid 1/2-1/6 < t < 1/2 + 1/6 \}$. Then $U$ is a neighborhood of $\{-1\}$ and the restriction $f|_U: U \to f(U)$ is a diffeomorphism. | |
