Jun 1, 2019 at 12:42 | comment | added | Jochen Glueck | @PietroMajer: Quite embarrassingly, I was not aware of the facts you describe in your answer (I'm quite used to considering differential equations in operator theoretic terms - but apparently I don't have sufficient experience in explicitely computing their Green functions). Anyway, I'm happy that the question was asked and that you took the time to answer it - so thanks a lot!

Jun 1, 2019 at 8:54 | comment | added | Jochen Glueck | I'm not quite sure why the question was downvoted twice. Admittedly, it is a bit too vague since the OP does not clarify what he means by "solve". Still, I agree with @DanieleTampieri that the question is quite interesting due to the special structure of the kernel. It might be possible to obtain rather concrete information about this equation, but this does not seem to be trivial at all.

May 31, 2019 at 17:27 | comment | added | Daniele Tampieri | The problem you pose is interesting, if only for the unusual structure of the kernel: if I could ask, what kind of problem led you to such equation?
